THE ICC MODEL

The Compassion-Based Psychological Reorganization Model (CBPRM)

At the Colombian Institute of Compassion, we believe that human suffering is not a defect, a personal failing, or a lack of will.

It is an adaptive response that is built through history, experiences, and the way our nervous system learns to relate to the world.

That is why we developed the Compassion-Based Psychological Reorganization Model (CBPM) , a proprietary methodology that integrates advances in neuroscience, contemporary clinical psychology, and third-generation therapeutic approaches to help people transform patterns that for years seemed impossible to change.

One question gave rise to the model

Why do we keep repeating things we know are harmful to us?
Why does a person return to relationships that hurt them?
Why does someone remain trapped in anxiety, guilt, or self-criticism even when they rationally understand what is happening to them?

For years we observed that the answer was rarely a lack of knowledge.

The answer lay in how the body, brain, and relationships had learned to organize themselves around experiences of threat, pain, or disconnection.

The MRPBC was created precisely to answer that question.

We understand suffering from
three dimensions

Before intervening in a symptom, we seek to understand how human experience is organized.

Biological Plane

Cómo responde el sistema nervioso ante la seguridad, la amenaza o el estrés.

Psychological Plane

How we interpret reality, construct meaning, and relate to our emotions.

Relational Plane

How our relational experiences shape the way we relate to others and to ourselves.

When these three systems are out of balance, patterns of suffering appear that tend to repeat themselves over time.
